DIM THE LIGHTS

Charles Aznavour dies.  Impossible, but true. We shared May 22nd (birthday, but 2 or 3 years apart.) A few years ago I invited him to sing on my album World peace is none of your business.   He listened, but declined - a wise man, indeed !
Music lasts longer than life, and Charles Aznavour is music : now, today, tomorrow and always.

Morrissey And Joan Jett In Los Angeles.

Morrissey Cements US Legacy With Joan Jett Show, Top-Billing At Tropicalia Festival
Morrissey Cements U.S. Legacy With Joan Jett Show, Top-Billing At Tropicalia Festival
Announces Deluxe Reissue Of 'Low in High School'.

Following quick sellouts of his recently added shows in Ventura (10.31 at the Majestic Ventura Theater) and San Diego (11.10 at Copley Symphony Hall), Morrissey has decided to add a rare theatre show in Los Angeles at the 7,000 seat Microsoft Theatre. Morrissey recently completed a similar multi-venue run in London and wants to bring a similar experience to his beloved Los Angeles. The Microsoft Theatre show promises to be a great night out as iconic special guest star Joan Jett will bring her "Bad Reputation" to open the evening's festivities with a full set of her own.

The high-profile set at the Microsoft Theater will also offer a VIP ticket package that includes preferred seating for the show and a limited edition reissue of his latest record 'Low in High School'. Out on December 7th, the deluxe edition is a double vinyl that includes his "touching" (Billboard) cover of The Pretenders' "Back On The Chain Gang," five (5) live B-sides from the recording session, three (3) unreleased tracks, a limited edition lithographed photograph of Morrissey, and a rare version of a photo booth portrait taken when the legendary frontman was a student.

The newly-announced California shows come at the heels of Morrissey's top-billing at Tropicalia Festival in Long Beach. The festival, which is near selling out, will see "one of the most influential figures in the history of British pop" (BBC) co-headlining alongside Cardi B and performing alongside luminaries of the contemporary alt-Latinx music scene such as Kali Uchis, Cuco, and Devendra Banhart as well as indie staples Mazzy Star and Albert Hammond, Jr. (The Strokes).

After the West Coast dates, Morrissey will bring his "fantastic" (Billboard) live act to Latin America. The tour will go through Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, ending on December 15th in Chile.
